Petzl technical PPE services for engineered work-at-height programs

Our service model is built for safety directors, competent persons, and procurement teams that need defensible decisions, not vague product suggestions. Petzl supports fall protection and head protection programs with structured product selection, standards mapping, compatibility review, documentation guidance, and refresh planning. The work begins with the actual task: access method, fall clearance, anchorage assumption, rescue window, helmet accessory stack, worker training level, and local compliance framework. From there, we translate the details into an equipment package and a documentation set that can move through EHS, operations, and sourcing review without losing technical meaning.

Service matrix

Structured support from hazard review to field rollout

Each service line is intentionally narrow. That keeps recommendations traceable to a standard, a task, or an operational constraint.

Fall protection system reviewHarness style, lanyard or SRL strategy, connector compatibility, free-fall distance, and rescue assumptions aligned with ANSI Z359 and OSHA 1926.502 language.
Safety helmet specificationHelmet class, chin strap retention, headlamp mounting, face shield pairing, and accessory loading compared against ANSI Z89.1-2014, EN 397, and EN 12492 references.
Inspection workflow designPractical inspection intervals, serialized record templates, retirement triggers, and supervisor signoff paths for harnesses, helmets, lanyards, and rescue kits.
Rescue readiness planningScenario review for tower, roof, confined vertical access, and industrial rope work, including kit placement and post-fall response responsibilities.
Procurement consolidationCore SKU rationalization, approved alternatives, size range planning, and distributor-ready package notes for high-volume replenishment.
Methodology

A review process that keeps standards, field realities, and purchasing aligned

01

Define the task

We capture the work method, height, exposure, tools carried, environmental conditions, and emergency assumptions. For a tower crew, for example, the same harness cannot be evaluated separately from climbing technique, rescue plan, connector choice, and helmet accessory requirements.

02

Map the standards

We separate workplace compliance references from product approval or conformity language. OSHA requirements, ANSI Z359 family documents, EN 361, EN 397, and EN 12492 references are presented with scope notes so reviewers understand what each citation actually governs.

03

Build the package

The output is a practical equipment set with alternates, compatibility notes, inspection records, and procurement descriptions. When a product is not suitable for a specific hazard, the exception is written down instead of buried in a conversation.

04

Support rollout

After selection, we help teams prepare distributor communication, refresher notes, recordkeeping templates, and replacement planning. The goal is consistent adoption across crews, shifts, and regions, not a one-time quote.
